Riverwalk, Jenks is highlighting artist Johnnie Diacon, who recently painted two murals for us near the Riverwalk Amphitheater. Come out and view these magnificent works of art portraying history and culture of the Muscogee Nation.
Mr. Diacon is an enrolled citizen of the Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma (Mvskoke), Thlopthlocco Tribal Town (Raprakko Etvlwa), and he is Deer Clan (Ecovlke). Mr. Diacon is a graduate of Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma and of the Institute of American Indian Arts in Sante Fe, New Mexico. He is a noted artist of four decades, the father of five, and grandfather of two. He currently lives on the Muscogee Creek Nation Reservation in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his wife Nikki and their youngest child Mekko.
